New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses ‒ that of the North and South Islands ‒ and numerous smaller islands. The country has 99% literacy and 95% of people live in cities. According to a United Nations 2011 survey it is among the top 5 in the world on quality of life.
